Bob Campagnuolo

Principal

Bob has over 25 years of marketing experience and works closely with colleges and universities on all aspects of their marketing and recruitment efforts, starting with initial conversations to identify needs and proposing plans of action on through implementation and assessing results. In addition, Bob manages GDA’s creative teams and is responsible for developing branding strategies, key messages and distinctive positioning as well as translating the results into compelling and effective recruitment communications. In recent years, Bob has focused on improving the ROI of student search programs by utilizing customized, integrated communications and predictive modeling. To help clients more fully engage prospective students throughout the recruitment cycle, Bob is leading GDA’s charge to integrate video and social, as well as relevant content, into the marketing mix.

Before joining GDA Integrated Services, Bob was the assistant director of marketing and communications for the continuing studies and graduate liberal studies program at Wesleyan University, in Middletown, Connecticut.  Prior to that, Bob spent over 15 years working in various marketing and communication roles at The Hartford Insurance Company, one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious financial services and insurance companies.

Bob holds a master of arts in liberal studies from Wesleyan University and a bachelor of arts from the University of Connecticut.

George Dehne

President, Research

George is president of GDA Research, which focuses on market research and consulting, specializing in creating strategies for admissions, financial aid and public relations. GDA Integrated Services offers a complete line of services for student recruitment and public relations ranging from direct mail and telemarketing to audio-video and publication production. Together, the two divisions have worked with more than 400 colleges and universities throughout the United States.

As a consultant, George has served some of the nation’s most distinguished universities including Columbia, Duke, Drexel, Clark, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern and Fairfield. His small college clients include Carleton, Bowdoin, Allegheny, Union (NY), Gettysburg, Goucher, Saint Lawrence, the College of Wooster, Franklin & Marshall, Hamilton, Trinity (CT), and Bryn Mawr.

As special assistant to the president from 1977-1981, he developed and directed the landmark marketing program for Carleton College in Minnesota. During his tenure at the College, Carleton won four Grand Awards for Public Relations and Admissions from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). The success of the Carleton effort was chronicled in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Harvard Business Review to name a few.

George began his career as a feature writer for United Press International and later served as a creative director for Young & Rubicam, the worldwide advertising agency. In the early 1970s, he was director of public relations for Wittenberg University in Ohio, followed by tenure as an account executive for Gehrung Associates University Relations Counselors, the nation’s first and largest firm devoted to the promotion of higher education.

After college, George earned a master’s of business administration, a master’s of art in journalism and a master’s in higher education from Indiana University.

His articles have appeared in the Journal of College Admissions, The College Board Review, Trusteeship of the Association of Governing Boards, CASE Currents, College Marketing Alert, and the Handbook for Student Recruitment. He is also principal author of Marketing Higher Education: A Handbook for Administrators.

Christopher Small

Executive Vice President

Topher has worked in higher education admissions and administration for more than 30 years. Prior to joining GDA Integrated Services, he was the vice president for enrollment management at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, where he was responsible for admissions and financial aid.

He was the vice president for administration at the University of Tulsa, where he oversaw admissions, financial aid, student services, athletics and development. Prior to that, he was responsible for undergraduate and graduate admissions, and undergraduate financial aid as dean of admissions and financial aid at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York and dean of admissions and financial aid at Ripon College in Wisconsin.

Topher possesses expertise in many areas of higher education, including prospect management, creative marketing strategies, direct mail strategies, the use of market research in enrollment management, financial aid as a pricing mechanism, financial aid leveraging to increase net tuition revenue and the use of volunteers in recruiting.

A number of small colleges and large universities have benefited from his consultation, including Hollins University, Elon College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Clarkson University, The University of Maine Presque Isle and Susquehanna University.

Topher earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin, and his master’s degree in American colonial history from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Gina Campbell

Managing Director, Telerecruiting

Gina has over 26 years of admissions and marketing experience, including positions as director of admissions at Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY; associate director of admissions at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA; and director of admissions at The Wooster School, a private secondary school in Danbury, CT.

Her marketing experience includes working as a marketing communications writer for Westinghouse Corporation and serving as a brand assistant in the marketing division of Smithkline Beecham Corporation.

Gina earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in professional writing from Carnegie Mellon University. She has written numerous admissions publications for both colleges and private secondary schools. As a past president of the Westchester, Putnam Rockland Counseling Association, Gina has many ties with counseling professionals in the New York area.

Ted Dehne

Managing Director, Research

Ted is a graduate of Lafayette College and holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton Graduate School. Most of his thirty-five years of professional experience is in the area of capital accessing and business diversification as credit analyst, institutional investor, securities underwriter, and financial advisor. Ted’s achievements include strategic capital planning, acquisition and joint venture evaluation, systems formation, corporate restructuring, major project financing, debt consolidation, and asset securitization for numerous national corporate and non-profit entities.

Prior to joining GDA Integrated Services, he had served as executive director of an independent multi-specialty physician network, a principal of a health provider consultancy, managing director of an unregulated captive finance company, and founding partner and managing director of American Health Capital. He also managed securities portfolios at two insurance companies and directed new business activities at regional investment banks and at PaineWebber.

Bob Gray

Senior Writer, Creative Services

Bob provides writing, marketing consultation, editing, and related services. His work in market positioning and key message development become extremely valuable when coordinating content for communications plans that encompass print, web, and other media.

Bob has written for and consulted with schools across the country. He earned a B.S. degree in education from the University of Virginia in 1977 and has worked with such clients as the Johns Hopkins University, University of Virginia, Drexel University, and the University of Tulsa, among many others.

Terri Justofin

Senior Consultant, Student Recruitment

Terri has over 35 years of experience in marketing, public relations and strategic planning for colleges and universities. As a consultant for the past 19 years, her focus has been on strategic marketing, communications development, leadership mentoring, prospect management training and special events planning. Terri has also produced marketing publications for her clients that have won awards from the Public Relations Society of America, the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations, and several other regional advertising organizations.

Prior to becoming a consultant, she worked as a senior admissions professional in both medical and management education. In her last campus-based position as Director of Marketing and Admissions for the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, she implemented many creative marking initiatives that resulted in the School’s ability to achieve record enrollments. Under her direction, the Weatherhead School’s recruitment literature won awards from the Council for the Advancement of Secondary Education, the Higher Education Marketing Report and the Cleveland Chapter of Women in Communications.

Terri holds a B.A. in Social Sciences from Kent State University and an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. She resides in Freeport Florida.

Jon Kinneman

Art Director, Creative Services

Jon has served as the art director for GDAIS since 2002. His 25 years of experience in the graphic design industry has encompassed a wide variety of clients, ranging from large corporations to small non-profits. In the world of higher education, he has extensive experience leading design teams in developing graphic identity programs, admissions materials and/or development campaigns for clients such as Hendrix College, the Council of Independent Colleges, Westminster College (UT), the University of Maryland - Baltimore, CalTech, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and Fairfield University, to name but a few.
 
Prior to joining GDAIS, Jon worked for other agencies with a special focus on higher education, among them Rutka Weadock, North Charles Street Design Organization, and Rytter Design. His work has garnered numerous awards, including CASE recognition. Jon graduated from Syracuse University with a B.F.A. in editorial design in 1985.

Suzanne Liberty

Director, Student Recruitment

Suzanne joined GDAIS after a 23 year career in university administration at Clarkson University. As Vice President for Enrollment at Clarkson, she provided leadership to all of the University’s enrollment management functions including freshmen, transfer and The Clarkson School, an innovative bridge year program for students entering college at the end of their junior year in high school. Prior to working with undergraduate admissions, she served as Dean of the Graduate School and Director of Research, as well as Director of Graduate Programs in the School of Business.

While at Clarkson, she worked with GDAIS to initiate a prospect-management approach for identifying and recruiting the best students for admission and she created a data-driven culture within the staff to improve the effective use of resources. She also involved alumni, faculty and staff in admission efforts and created a culture of involvement of the campus in recruiting efforts.

She has provided prospect management training and served as a mentor for GDAIS clients. Suzanne holds a Ph.D. in Education Administration from the University of Utah. She also holds a master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Colorado State University.

Bonnie Liu

Managing Director, Direct Mail

Bonnie came to GDA Integrated Services after spending eleven years with Epsilon/American Express, where she managed direct mail campaigns for college and university admissions clients. Bonnie has perfected her ability to initiate creative and data management processes, drive print and letter production, and achieve quality output provided by external suppliers.

In her work with higher education clients, Bonnie’s commitment to client service and satisfaction stands out. She helps to analyze results of direct mail programs from initial inquiry response through final matriculation goals, identify new or unproductive markets, and make recommendations to improve results and reduce costs.

Bonnie earned her bachelor’s degree at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and her M.B.A. from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She also received a certificate in the Administrative Fellowship Program at Harvard University.

Sharon Meador

Art Director & Web Producer, Creative Services

At GDAIS, Sharon designs electronic and print communications, including view books, direct mail, customized mini web sites, and emails. Sharon coordinates web site design and development. She also interfaces with photographers, junior designers, and programmers.

In Sharon’s more than 20 years of experience, she has won numerous design awards, including national recognition from the Advertising Federation of America for a publication for Virginia Military Institute. Before coming to GDAIS, Sharon worked for 10 years in creative services at The Roanoke Times.

Sharon received her bachelor of science from Virginia Tech and is currently completing a graduate degree in art at Hollins University.

Marilyn Rhoads Mock

Managing Director, Public Relations and Strategic Planning

With over 25 years of institutional advancement experience, Marilyn Mock possesses a wide range of expertise in the areas of marketing, alumni/parent relations, development, public relations, media relations, special events, publications and board/trustee relations.

Prior to joining GDA Integrated Services, Marilyn spent nearly 20 years at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Under her leadership as vice president for university relations, the institution made remarkable progress in student recruitment and retention, fund-raising, and institutional positioning efforts. Working with the various advancement offices, Marilyn is credited with inaugurating many programs and efforts that were critical to Southwestern’s dramatic, across-the-board improvements.

Marilyn has worked with colleges and universities around the country, mainly in the areas of marketing, public relations, fund-raising, and student recruitment.

Gayle Pollock

Director, Student Recruitment

Gayle Pollock possesses more than 25 years of experience in admissions and student recruitment. Prior to joining GDA Integrated Services, Gayle was dean of admissions at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania from 1989 to 1998. During that time, Allegheny enjoyed full enrollment, received record numbers of applications, improved the academic quality of the student population, reduced the acceptance rate and increased the net revenue generated by each student.

Prior to joining the Allegheny staff, Gayle was dean of admissions at her alma mater, Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. While in that position, Gayle and her staff increased the size of the first-year class and significantly improved academic quality of the entering students.

In 1994, Gayle received the Career Achievement Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Secondary Schools and College Admissions Counselors (PASSCAC).

Victoria Profy

Managing Director, Information Services

As Managing Director for Information Services at GDA Integrated Services, Vicky Profy conducts national, regional and local research related to client projects. She also provides information and research services to GDA Associates by tracking trends and issues related to demography, the economy, education, the environment, government and legislation, strategic planning in business and industry, technology, values and lifestyles, and the youth market.

Vicky’s experience includes working as a research assistant at Drexel University’s Graduate School of Library Science and the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Education. She also has 10 years of experience developing and managing information services in the corporate community.

Vicky holds a degree in Library and Information Science from Drexel University.

Jane Daly Seaberg

Director, Marketing and Public Relations Consulting

Jane offers GDA Integrated Services clients a rich and varied background in education and the media. She has served as an education reporter and editorial page editor for two Midwestern daily newspapers; as director of admission for Kingswood-Oxford School (CT), a selective independent day school; and as public relations director for Clarke College (IA), Susquehanna University (PA), Trinity College (CT), and Georgetown University (DC).

Jane is the GDAIS specialist for independent school marketing and student recruitment. Her areas of expertise also include marketing, public relations, media relations, crisis and issues management, special events and publications.

Jane’s work has earned the Golden Quill Award from the Kansas-National Education Association for excellence in education reporting, three national CASE awards for positioning the president and public relations program improvement, and a CASE district award for special events. Her crisis management work was cited in a Harvard Business Review case study.

She is a proud graduate of Clarke College and has attended the American Press Institute.

Mary Seger

Director, Publications Development

Mary has been involved in public relations and publications management for her entire professional life, beginning as an assistant editor of an independently published annual journal, Poor Joe’s Almanac, in the 1970s. Although the Almanac did not survive, the advertising agency that published it did, and Mary stayed on as an account executive for all non-profit accounts.

In 1984, she joined the administration of Allegheny College, her alma mater, as the Director of Publications. In this role, she managed the production of over 150 publications annually, and scheduled and coordinated writing, photography, design, printing and mailing for publications produced in quantities ranging from 150 to 150,000. She also was a key participant in helping to shape the public relations/communication plans for the offices of admissions, development and alumni affairs, creating images, themes, and messages for programs and publications.

A 1973 graduate of Allegheny with a bachelor’s degree in speech/drama, Mary also attended Catholic University in Washington, D.C., and the University of Exeter in Devonshire, England.

Stuart Trinkle

Director, Student Recruitment

Prior to joining GDA, Stuart spent over 13 years at Hollins University as Associate Director and Director of Admissions. During her time at Hollins, Stuart implemented a recruitment and communication plan based on the prospect management model. She enrolled the two largest classes in the past 30 years during her tenure as Director. In addition, she has over 10 years of experience in business management.

During her ten years at GDA, she has worked with over twenty colleges and universities providing mentoring and training to new admissions officers. In addition, she has provided staff training, developed numerous integrated communication plans utilizing all divisions on campus. One client college saw a 72% increase in undergraduate enrollment during the five years she worked with them.

Stuart holds a bachelors degree in psychology from Roanoke College.
